Next congress "Connective Tissues in Sports Medicine" in Munich, March 15-16, 2025
Connective Tissues in Sports Medicine 3rd CONNECT Congress, March 26-27, 2021

Dear friends and colleagues,

Due to the actual international COVID 19–situation CONNECT 2021 was held as an Online-Congress.

Physical training not only strengthens the cardiovascular system, but also the musculoskeletal system. While skeletal muscles are intimately related to connective tissues, it is the fibrous connective tissue components, which often suffer pathology from athletic overload. Across many biological fields, including sports medicine, new research is highlighting the important role connective tissues play in health, well-being and disease.

The 3rd CONNECT Congress at TUM, draws research across a number of biological fields to focus on „Connective Tissues in Sports Medicine“. It explores emerging research on the role of fascia from a clinical, molecular and biomechanical standpoint, to strengthen the exchange and dialogue between all research fields.

The Congress aims to CONNECT scientists, sports medicine practitioners, physicians, therapists, coaches and sports administrators, to translate the latest scientific results findings into athletic and therapeutic practice.

With collegial greetings

CONNECTIVE TISSUES IN SPORTS MEDICINE

Intervention methods within the interdisciplinary field of sports and rehabilitation medicine contribute an important share to health prevention, diagnostics and therapy of many illnesses. Physical training not only strengthens the cardiovascular system, but the musculoskeletal system as well, consisting of skeletal muscles and connective tissues. On the other side, it is usually the fibrous connective tissue components which suffer most from athletic overload pathologies. Not only in sports medicine but in other human biological fields, the direction of including muscular connective tissue in research is clear now.

The 3rd CONNECT Congress at TUM, with its topic „Connective Tissues in Sports Medicine“ relates to the role of fascia from a clinical, molecular and a biomechanical standpoint, to strengthen the exchange and dialogue between all research fields. Our CONNECT Congress equally addresses scientists for connective tissue, sports medicine, physicians and coaches to transfer latest scientific results into athletic and therapeutic practice.
